Rocker arm hole size

Post by Cheap Hobby »

Have a new set of rocker arms and the oil holes are 3 or for different sizes. Didn't look when I first got them, been to long can't complain now.
Question: do I drill all to match the largest size or order another set and mix and match to get a set the same?

Depends on what the largest hole size is. But if it's not too big a hole, I'd drill them all to that size, the biggest risk is reducing oil pressure to other areas of the engine. You want each rocker / pushrod to get the same amount of oil, so uniformity in the size of all oiling orifices in the top end is what you want to shoot for.

Technically, the holes should be the same or smaller than the one at the end of the pushrod. I prefer having rocker am holes that are the same diameter as the oil inlet hole on the side of the lifter which I recall is .065"
